Lots of people search “Damon Darling real name,” and the short answer is that it is Damon Darling. This article also covers his age, wife, money, comedy career, and the Walmart ban that pushed him into the news in August 2026. Every fact is marked as confirmed or unconfirmed, so you know what to trust.
Background: Who Is Damon Darling?
Damon Darling is a stand-up comedian and video creator from Urbana, Ohio, a small city in the middle of the state. He got famous online with prank clips and a series often called “Gotta Dollar,” where he walks up to strangers and ends up handing out cash or paying for their groceries. The clips spread across TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
The Dayton Daily News reported that his videos passed 700 million views on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, and that he had about 2.7 million TikTok followers. News stories from August 2026 say his combined following is above 10 million. IMDb’s short bio calls him a stand-up comedian, actor, and philanthropist.
So why do people search him? First, they see his videos and wonder if “Damon Darling” is a stage name. Second, they hear about his old jobs on oil rigs and as a prison guard and want the full story. Third, a Walmart ban made him a headline in August 2026.
Latest Update
The biggest story is the Walmart ban. On August 7, 2026, Darling posted a video titled “They Kicked Me Out Again.” In it, a worker at an Ohio Walmart tells him he cannot come inside and would be trespassing if he stayed. He said he was there to pay for strangers’ groceries. Later footage showed a police officer giving him what was described as a lifetime trespass notice covering Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Murphy USA gas stations.
Walmart told TMZ the ban came from repeated policy violations, including disruptive behavior and trespassing, and had nothing to do with his giveaways. Complex reported that the company pointed to older prank content, such as throwing items, staged falls, and pouring milk on himself. On August 11, Darling went on TMZ Live and said he would respect the decision and stop filming at those businesses. When fans began calling for a Walmart boycott, he asked them to stop, according to TheGrio on August 13.
Not brand new: Snopes found that a video Darling posted on April 11, 2025, ends with two officers telling him at a Xenia, Ohio, Walmart that he had a trespass order covering “all Walmarts.” So the ban was talked about widely in August 2026, but it was not the first time he was told about it.

Full Profile
Real Name
His public name is Damon Darling. Reports and profiles use that name, and I found no credible source that lists a different birth name or stage name. Nobody has published a birth record either way.
Family and Early Life
Darling was born and raised in Urbana, Ohio. Legit.ng reports that his mother raised him, with an older brother, twin younger brothers, and a sister. That detail comes from one outlet, so treat it as reported, not confirmed.
He has spoken about growing up without a father he knew. In a May 2025 interview quoted by Legit.ng, he said he believed his dad was the same man as his older brother’s father. Around age 18, his stepdad told him the truth, and he realized his real father was a man he had only seen around, cutting grass at an apartment complex.
In another interview, reported by Briefly, he said he briefly attended Wright State University, then dropped out. By 19 he said he was drinking heavily. He later lived in San Diego, had children with a woman he barely knew, and lived in his car for a time before returning to Ohio and starting recovery.
Career Path
Before comedy, Darling worked hard, physical jobs. Reports list oil rig work, a job as a prison corrections officer, and construction. He has turned those years into jokes about working-class life.
The Dayton Daily News says he was 31 when he first got on stage, at an open mic at Wiley’s Comedy Club in 2018. Social media made him popular, and he moved on to headline shows around the country. In late 2025 the paper said he was full-time in comedy and hoping for a special, a TV show, or a movie.
In August 2025 he launched Meemaw Fuel Coffee. The Urbana Daily Digital reported that it sold out in three hours. The brand’s own page says it was inspired by the “meemaw” style advice of his family, and that it is aimed at people who traded hangovers for hustle.
Age
His birthday is January 28. He posted a birthday message on Instagram on that date in 2025, reported by Briefly, and Legit.ng also gives January 28. The birth year is where sources disagree: 1986, 1987, and 1989 all appear online. The Dayton Daily News fact that he was 31 at his 2018 open mic fits 1986 or 1987, but not 1989. That makes him 39 or 40 today.
Religion
Darling describes himself as God-fearing. His social tagline, as reported by GlamourBiz in 2025, read “Stand-up Comedian, 9 Years Sober, God Fearing.” His denomination is not public. One 2026 site says he hit 10 years sober, but the exact sobriety date is unconfirmed.
Spouse/Partner
He is married. GlamourBiz points to an Instagram anniversary post from May 14, 2025, that said nine years, which suggests a wedding on May 13, 2016. Legit.ng and other sites name his wife as Stephanie Nicole Darling and say the couple marked ten years in May 2026. I could not find the name confirmed in a primary source, so it is reported, not verified.
Children are also unclear. Sites claim one son, three kids, or five kids, and he has spoken about children from an earlier relationship. The real number is unconfirmed.
Net Worth
No confirmed figure exists. Legit.ng cites Celebrity Net Worth at about $2 million in 2026. Another site says $3.5 million, and a third gives a range of $2 million to $5 million. Income likely comes from touring, video earnings, merchandise, sponsors, and the coffee brand, but his real finances are private.
Parents
His mother raised him, according to Legit.ng. The names of his mother, stepdad, and biological father are not public, and I left them out.
Height
Fan and profile sites say around 5 feet 10 inches. No official source gives it, so it is unconfirmed.
Education
Reports say he finished high school and briefly attended Wright State University without graduating. The name of his high school is not confirmed.
Hometown/State of Origin
Urbana, Ohio, United States. The Dayton Daily News describes him as a Dayton-area comedian who grew up in Urbana.

Who is Damon Darling’s wife?
Several sites name her Stephanie Nicole Darling, and he has posted anniversary messages about his wife. I could not confirm her name in a primary source. Treat the name as reported.

Where is Damon Darling from?

Wrap-Up
The name question has a plain answer. Damon Darling is the name he goes by, the name in news reports, and the name on his shows, and no reliable source has shown another one. What is missing is the paperwork detail, like a middle name, and that is normal for a creator who keeps parts of his private life private.
The trending story is the Walmart ban, and it is more complicated than the first videos made it look. A ban was already mentioned in April 2025, Walmart says the cause was his older pranks, and Darling chose to accept the decision instead of fighting it. For readers, the lesson is to check the date and the source before sharing a viral claim.
Most of the personal facts people hunt for, like his birth year, his wife’s name, his number of children, his height, and his net worth, are still unconfirmed. If more reliable reporting appears, those gaps can be filled. Until then, the safest sources are his official website, his own social accounts, and local Ohio news coverage.
